Boat Mooring Agreement

PDF版

Long-term moorings (sometimes called permanent moorings or piers) are plentiful, with fully maintained marinas in simple locations along the canal or river banks. Individual long-term moorings against private residential areas are often considered the end of piers. Even if you own the land, since the Canal-River Trust owns the canal bed, permission is required for the exclusive right to end the pier. Most people prefer the safety and convenience of a berth in a marina or pond across the main line of the canal or river. You need one of these berths for your boat if you are not constantly travelling. Most are offered by private companies or boat clubs, either in offline or online marinas, along the canal or along the river banks in front of the towing path. Contracts can vary from three months to three years, so there are plenty of choices. Our Waterside Mooring site has an easy search feature that will help you find your nearest long-term docking station managed by our Waterside Moorings team. All berths are displayed on the site and if you see a green in relief, it means that there are currently moorings. If you are interested in creating new online moorings or berths for a business boat, please visit our Business Boating page for more information.

Waterways World and Canal Boat Magazine both publish annual mooring supplements, which are full of helpful tips, announcements and announcements – good if you prefer to browse through paper. Download more information about the pier`s end request. Be very careful. Sleeping contracts are for each boat owner personally and very rarely from one boat owner to another. If someone offers you a boat with a berth, be very skeptical and ask for legal proof that they have the right to pass on the mooring contract when the boat is sold. Be ready to buy. Berths are usually calculated based on the length of the boat and the popularity of the area – supply and demand mean you pay more in the south, where land prices are highest, and obviously, locations with more demanding services offer higher rates.
