Agreements For Innovation

PDF版

When do I need an agreement or a treaty on research and innovation? Why should the VPRI be included in agreements and contracts? The challenge is to find new ways to pricing and awarding innovative drug contracts, particularly in oncology and rare diseases, that benefit health outcomes, innovation and sustainability of the health system, while meeting the direct needs of stakeholders. Vintura conducts research with more than 30 pharmacists, buyers and healthcare professionals to understand hospital preferences for agreements with pharmaceutical companies. Although 50% of hospitals have some experience with innovative agreements, we found that acceptance and preference for innovative hospital agreements are limited (see Chart 3). Innovative agreements do not meet their needs. For Dutch hospitals, “this does not mean that they meet their needs”: designated VPRI staff are allowed to negotiate research and innovation agreements to achieve the following results. VPRI facilitates and manages all academic research partnerships to ensure that the terms of research and innovation contracts or contracts are consistent with the university`s research policy. The other option for continuous improvement and innovation is generally a Master Service Agreement clause that requires the service provider to submit three to five ideas each year to improve services and technology or save money. Since these ideas may result in a reduction in the fee for the service provider, these clauses are generally supported by gainshare clauses. This means that if there is a significant reduction in rates, a structured program will allow the service provider to reap some of the financial benefits for a period following the implementation of the idea. Continuous improvement and innovation are creative conditions; Ideas don`t just come out of the air as part of service delivery. Each customer situation is unique and potential innovations must be proposed in the context of the situation. We recommend that our clients focus on innovation in their governance process.

This requires the establishment of an innovation structure and the time for reflection of both teams to reflect on potential ideas, verify industry conditions, draw contributions from the service provider`s experience in other think tanks and best practices, and formulate proposals that management teams can evaluate.
